Vegans of Los Angeles
Vegans of LA is a vegan and black-owned idea to spread our ideals with palpable actions in our communities. We understand food banks are a vital source of nourishment for many individuals and families, and that’s why we want to increase their food options by adding a vegan menu to the mix! You’ll enjoy the many benefits of a food bank with the option of choosing vegan alternatives to feed you and help you live your ideals.
Rancho Compasión Compassionate Education Program
Through their Compassionate Education program at Rancho Compasión, they seek to inform and educate Bay Area students about the animal agriculture industry that produces our food today, about the conditions and procedures to which farmed animals are subjected, and about the consequences and challenges that our modern methods of animal agriculture create for our planet and all living things.
Rancho Compasión has the unique opportunity, through the lives and experiences of their rescued animals, to tell their story on behalf the billions of animals that are being raised for food around the world today.

Beneath The Wood Sanctuary
Beneath the Wood is a Viva! award-winning vegan sanctuary based in Wales that provides permanent homes for dogs with behaviour issues, pigs, sheep, cats and horses.Sasha Bennett set up Beneath the Wood in 2009 when she moved from Bristol to a 15-acre site in Ceredigion, nestled in beautiful rolling hills midway between the towns of Lampeter and Tregaron. In 2019 we were involved in a high-profile case that rescued #53 pigs from truly horrifying conditions at an illegal slaughterhouse in Pembrokeshire. It meant Beneath the Wood tripled the size of the sanctuary’s dependents overnight, and we now have over 90 pigs, and over 135 animals in total. The cost of caring for and feeding so many animals is a huge challenge. The complete story of the pigs can be found by accessing The #53 pigs link.We also do work in rehabilitating dogs with behaviour issues – first identifying and then alleviating their problems. Like the pigs, a lot of these dogs have been saved from being put to sleep … and they have thrived since arriving at Beneath the Wood.
Rowdy Girl Sanctuary/Rancher Advocacy Program
A TEXAS BEEF CATTLE RANCH THAT HAD A VEGAN CHANGE OF HEART & IS NOW A FARM ANIMAL SANCTUARYLocated in the heart of cattle ranching country just outside of Austin, our sanctuary treats animals as friends and family not food. Each and every one of our 130 farm animals has a name, a story and a unique personality. They were all destined to become food or were deemed inconvenient to keep. At Rowdy Girl Sanctuary, all enjoy the freedom and love they deserve.
We were Texas cattle ranchers. We consumed animals just like many people do. Then the day came when the anguished cries of the mother cows watching their babies go to the sale barn could no longer be tolerated. A place where slaughter was the norm became a place of peace after enormous challenges were overcome. Read our story here. On their website you wil also find information about the Rancher Advocacy Program, a pioneering a global resource that will encourage farm transitions by bringing investors, resources, academics, filmmakers, authors, attorneys, lobbyists, and other plant-based and manufacturing experts to the table.

Food For Thought/ Animal Place
Animal Place’s Food for Thought campaign inspires animal shelters to align their ethics with their actions by adopting an animal-friendly menu policy for their shelter-sponsored events. Our regional coordinators work directly with shelters to assist interested agencies in changing their policies. We strongly encourage community participation – we offer an advocacy toolkit and resources to help you achieve change at your local shelter.
While the campaign started more than a decade ago, it was revitalized in 2014 and expanded in 2015. The campaign has been endorsed by more than 100 national and local non-profits and a dozen shelters have adopted or upgraded a policy.

The Martha Project LA
The Martha Project is a nonprofit that provides plant-based meals and human connection to those without shelter in our local communities.
Our focus is to cook healthy, plant-based meals we would want to eat ourselves, and deliver them by hand to unsheltered communities. We create healthy, plant-based meals we would want to eat ourselves or serve to our families, then hand deliver them in eco-friendly packaging to unsheltered communities. Each meal is delivered with a smile and a conversation to communicate to those we are serving that they are seen, loved, and their life matters.

Vegan Books for Schools/Global Vegan Crowdfunder/Animal Justice Project
Animal Justice Project is excited to announce the relaunch of our hugely successful Vegan Books for Schools campaign for the Spring Term 2022. During 2021, we raised enough to buy an incredible 487 Vivi the Supervegan books to gift to Early Years settings and primary schools across the UK! We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who so kindly joined us in our mission and enabled our Vegan Superhero to reach so many children. Let’s keep the momentum going! To launch this crowd funder we have teamed up with ‘Vivi the Supervegan’, the creation of talented author Tina Newman.‘Vivi the Supervegan’ is a beautifully written children’s story with a powerful message of compassion and kindness. We want Vivi to be our ambassador in the quest to get vegan voices heard and listened to in schools across the UK.Children are intelligent, inherently compassionate, and born with kindness and empathy. Let’s keep them that way, by educating them before the abuse and exploitation of animals is normalised into their daily lives. We want to help them to challenge the mistruths that animal agriculture industries peddle day after day. Children are powerful advocates for change, let’s amplify their voice! It’s a simple plan. We are crowd funding to raise money to be able to gift this fabulous book to as many nurseries and primary schools across the UK as possible. The more money we raise, the more books we can donate, and the more children we can reach out to.
